Hi! I’m Kezz – otherwise known as Kezzabeth, or just Kerry (yep that’s my real name!). Kezzabeth was a kind of nickname during my school years and I just stuck with it. Mainly because it’s a username that’s never taken and yep – that’s why this blog is called Kezzabeth (I basically couldn’t think of anything better!). I’m a 20-something-year-old girl living with my DIY partner in crime Grant (you’ll see him a fair bit on the blog!) and our two little spaniels Todd and Doug.
We purchased our first home way back in 2011, discovering the only way we could ever afford to get onto the property ladder was to buy a renovation project and make it our own, DIY style. So we did just that. Three years later we sold that teeny tiny house and found ourselves buying yet another renovation project, which is the house I now share on here, the blog.
This blog was started as my little place on the web to share our personal renovation journey, having regretted not taking enough photos of our first one! We’re working class folk, renovating on a budget and doing the work ourselves because, well, we can’t afford to pay people. We’re not builder professionals or experts in the trade, we’re just learning as we go and it turns out, we’re not that bad at it.
We believe that anyone can learn to DIY and you don’t necessarily need to pay someone to renovate your home. This blog shares everything we know about DIY so you can learn too. Whether it’s fitting a kitchen, building a shed, or just sanding floorboards. Basically, we’ve made the mistakes so you don’t have to. 😉
