The last room tour – the bedroom! This is actually a pretty large room.. especially for a terraced house. Probably a good thing too as we have a pretty large wardrobe that would cramp anything smaller. This bed is actually ridiculously old and worn (hence why it’s looking a bit dishevelled) and has physically broken so many times. It’s also quite a small bed.. I think they’re known as a Small-Double or Large-Single. Pretty much an inbetween-y size. This is probably the reason I’ve never splashed out on fancy bed-wear either. New bed is top priority for the next house.
I love this wall – it makes such a statement. I actually chose this wallpaper before we’d even moved in. It goes pretty well with the blinds too.
Opposite the bed is this view. Can you tell I like wood? Sanding that floor was such a nightmare I’m not sure I would ever do it again. We actually wanted a light stain on it and chose ‘medium oak’ which actually turn out to be mega dark! Much darker than I would have liked. Ah well, it doesn’t look too bad? Thankfully the room is large enough to take it.
I love this mirror – so many people have commented on it too. It’s from a shop called Indigo Furniture – I dream of buying all my furniture from there, but unfortunately it’s pretty darn expensive! My budget could only splash to the mirror. But I love this mirror so much. I think I would cry if anything ever happened to it. You can also see my many hair-tools in that basket. Too many perhaps?
On the other side of the wardrobe is this chest. I accidentally burnt the top with a candle when I was 18. I hid it for months and only confessed when I took it with me leaving home. You can’t see it in the picture, but I assure you it’s pretty noticeable! Memories. The hoover lives there purely because it can. And with messy pups it gets plenty of use and lives all over the house.
Lastly from this angle you can see our laundry bin and a step ladder all stuffed behind the door. We also stuff shoes behind there too. Can you tell we were running out of room in this house much?
So there we have the end of our first house tour. Bring on house number 2!
