Grass Growth Update, Day 16

October 11, 2014 - No Comments - 1 min read

This is just a quick update really.. 9 days since my last grass growth post and what a difference it has made! The majority of the garden now has thick grass growth! Whilst you can still see the soil when you look straight down, every day the grass grows thicker and I don’t think it’ll be much longer until it’s complete. There are still a few patches that don’t have much growth – but I think I’ll leave it another week before re-seeding the patches. It’s possible they didn’t get enough water in the first few days to take proper root.

The grass is getting pretty long in places now – I read that you should wait until the grass is between 5-7cm before it’s first mow.. However because the area’s still quite patchy, I’m going to wait until the whole area is at a decent length. Apparently lawn feed isn’t required for a few months as long as the growth is good (which it is, so far!), so as long as the lawn continues to look healthy, I think I’ll wait until early spring for this.

I haven’t searched out which lawn-mower to buy yet.. There’s just so many! This is definitely next on the list. Anyway here’s a few pics of our awesome new lawn!
