So, the festivities are beginning! The Christmas Markets are set-up, the town lights are switched on, the home decorations have been fished out from their dusty corner and Advent Calendars are now finally being opened! – Admittedly this post may be a little too late but I’m going to share it anyway.
Grant and I usually surprise each other with an advent calendar, although after five years, I guess it’s no surprise anymore. But, I also like to include the dogs with their own advent calendar as well. Dog advent calendars can be pretty expensive though, so I thought I would DIY my own.
This is super simple DIY, simply using materials from around the house! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Rope
- Money Envelopes or Parcel paper
- Craft Supplies; pens, paper, glue, string etc.
- Pegs
- Dog Treats!
If you can’t tell already this DIY is so simple, there’s hardly a blog post to write! I simply used money envelopes and brown parcel paper to wrap up some tasty doggy treats. Then, I decorated them with craft paper cut to different Christmas themes and then added some ribbon.
I attached some rope to the wall with nails and used pegs to hang the treats up!
As I had quite a bit of rope left, I also made a little rope sign saying ‘Merry Xmas’ which turned out much better than I had even planned.
And that’s it! I think the dogs are enjoying their homemade advent calendars – I mean if this picture waiting impatiently doesn’t prove that, then who knows what does! 😉
Happy Advent!
